The reason this wine is so unique, so memorable, so special? This vineyard. This wine comes from a very special old vine vineyard in Mendocino County, Bartolomei Vineyard. These 110 year old ancient vines have amazing quality, complexity and depth. Their deep roots allow the vines to shrug off hot days, as their roots are kept cool in the soil.

This bottling languished in oak barrels for 3 extra years. Caramelization adds a touch of warmth to the wine. We freshened up the final bottling with some 2017 Primitivo and a touch of 2017 Petite Sirah. Late Bottled Vintage is a technique primarily used in Portugal, and it succeeded with this rare wine from Mendocino.
